PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Magnetic 3D is excited to share a unique application using (2) of our Portrait 49″ Wildfire DS displays to create one of the world’s first Outdoor Holographic 3D Avatars. Futureworks – a New Zealand-based AV Integrator – worked with the renowned Embassy Theatre In Wellington to restore some of its 1924 charm by incorporating “virtual ticket-takers” at the front entryway. As moviegoers approach the ticket window they are greeted by a Glasses-Free 3D character that was developed by Magnetic 3D’s creative team.
The client shared pictures to help match the uniforms from the 1920’s and selected a Disney-inspired look for the character whose design was a digital reconstruction of the owners grandson. The 3D “transaction experience” begins and virtual money is exchanged for a 3D ticket. Iconic imagery was built into the background of the booth showing movie film reels, posters, and a money box from that era to honor the storied history of the theater.
